Stratford-on-Avon District Council together with Warwickshire Police are hosting 'A Day in the Life' networking and training event that recognises the reality of life as a Licensee.

It takes place on Tuesday 14 October at The Legacy Falcon Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.

This major new pilot project has been devised as a way for Authorities to engage positively with their Licensees, in the true spirit of partnership working, and try to provide low cost business support and encouragement in difficult times, as well as best practice messages in an easy to understand format.

The programme is packed full of interesting and stimulating topics, ranging from the latest technology, to planning permission issues, to employment and staff issues, debt management and good neighbour relations.  Licensees will hear talks on underage sales and recognising fake ID; counterfeit alcohol and a range of regulatory issues that concern their businesses, in a friendly and supportive environment, where they can ask questions and meet the regulators face to face.

At a time when local authorities and Police are looking at a range of options to control alcohol and night-time economy, 'A Day in the Life' is seen as a positive project, to look at both sides and bringing Authorities and Licensees together in cooperation to tackle the day to day issues they face.

Cllr Gillian Roache, Community Safety, Health & Well Being Portfolio Holder for Stratford District Council said: “Thriving, well-run businesses are good for everyone.  They are good for the community; good for the economy, and of course, good for licensees and their staff.  This event is aimed at helping improve and promote businesses in the licensing trade."

The event runs from 9.30am to 5.30pm and costs £5 which includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day and is open to anyone whether you run a pub, a club, off-licence, hotel or takeaway or any type of licensed premises.

Come and meet the experts; get some new ideas; ask questions and find out more.
