Stratford Town Square public exhibition to take place

Property development and investment company, UK & European Investments will be hosting a public exhibition on Friday 5^th June, giving people the opportunity to view plans for the proposed redevelopment of Stratford Town Square.

Taking place between 11am and 8pm in Unit 20 at Town Square, the exhibition will outline UK & European's aims for the retail and leisure destination, including changing the name of the development to Bell Yard.

John Stacey, Asset Management Director at UK & European Investments said: “The public exhibition is an opportunity for local people to come along and view the architect's proposed designs for Bell Yard, as well as to gain an understanding of how we envisage the development will evolve in order for it to become a desirable place for people to shop, eat and enjoy their leisure time.

“It's important for us that we deliver a scheme that is welcomed by the local community and have therefore started by changing the name, taking on board the comments raised during the initial consultation process."

When complete, the £30 million redevelopment of Town Square will deliver over 70,000 sq ft of retail, restaurant and leisure space.

In January 2014, planning was granted for the redevelopment of Town Square, including a multiplex cinema. As planning permission has been granted for the site, it is UK & European's intention to submit an application which seeks to amend the approved proposals, allowing changes and improvements to be made to the approved scheme.

During the exhibition, there will be an opportunity for visitors to discuss the proposed plans with the teams at UK & European, architects Mountford Pigott, landscape architects Bradley Murphey Design and DP9 planning consultancy. Comment forms will be collected during and after the exhibition.

UK & European, acting as investment manager, own the lease to Stratford Town Square; two thirds of which is owned by Stratford District Council and one third by Stratford Town Trust.
