A six-week consultation has begun by Stratford-on-Avon District Council on Planning Matters.
The District Council is carrying out a consultation on what is known as a 'Local List' of information which is needed to decide planning applications, including how many plans are needed, and supporting information to explain what is proposed.
The District Council has drawn up this list which is specific to the Stratford-on-Avon District area to help applicants to get it right first time saving time and money for the Council and applicants.
If submitted planning applications include all the information needed and are easy to understand, it makes it easier for the District Council to give advice and make decisions and the planning application process can begin immediately.
Cllr Daren Pemberton, Environmental Services Portfolio says: “It's all about working together - if you get your application right, the District Council can start working on it right away, and gets you a decision as fast as possible.
“If you submit different information at different times, the District Council will have to go back to consultees several times. If you agree and submit all the necessary information with your application at the start, the District Council can carry out a single round of consultation, saving a huge amount of time, effort and more importantly money! You can save yourself weeks of delay and frustration!
“This consultation is important to check the District Council has the right information in the list and comments are welcome on this."
The consultation runs from Friday 7 August to Friday 2nd October and the Local List is available to view on the District Council's website: www.stratford.gov.uk/planning/planning-forms-and-fees.cfm
Comments can be made by emailing dale.barker@stratford-dc.gov.uk with 'Local List Comments' in the subject line.
