Stratford-on-Avon District Council is joining with local Soroptimist Group to launch a poster campaign to rescue victims of modern slavery.
There are nearly 3,000 victims of human trafficking in the UK and some of these are in local communities. A few weeks ago 40 trafficked workers were rescued from a house near Stourbridge.
The posters are in English and other languages and will be widely displayed in public places with contact details for support and advice for victims.
The District Council has agreed for these posters to be displayed in District Council owned properties.
Cllr Mike Brain, Technical Services portfolio says: “This is not something that you think happens on your doorstep – but it is and the District Council is happy to play its part in this campaign."
