Sports Awards 2016 – Category finalists

The 14^th Annual Stratford-on-Avon District Sport Awards evening organised by the District Council takes place on Friday 22nd January 2016. The 2016 event will be hosted by Stratford Manor Q Hotel with headline sponsors NFU Mutual, Rybrook Stratford and Everyone Active.

The judges have met and a shortlist of finalists has been chosen. We are pleased to announce the following finalists for the eight awards are as follows:

Everyone Active Junior Team Award: Studley High School – Swimming; Stratford Sea Cadets – Rowing; Stratford Cycling Club (Youth); Stratford School U16 Girls – Football; Stratford Cricket Club U15 Team.  

Stratford Bike Hire Senior Team Award: Stratford Cricket Club; Stratford Town Football Club; Stratford Rugby Club;

Fit for Sport Alternative Sport Award: Danielle Brain – Canoe Polo; Nicole Brain – Canoe Polo; Demi Barnett – Tae-Kwon-Do; Sky Barnett – Tae-Kwon-Do; Evie Lowe - Skipping.

Rybrook MINI Stratford Coach/PE Teacher Award: Mathew Pickering – Boxing; Paul Hawkins – Athletics; Daniel Redshaw – Fencing; Nick Bridges – Football; Nathan Edwards - Cricket.

VASA Volunteer Award: Sandy Green – Athletics; Emma Hancocks – Multi-Sports; Jo Littler – Rugby; Mathew Pickering – Boxing.

NFU Mutual Community Award: Stratford Athletic Club Juniors; Stratford Rugby Club; Stratford Cycling Club

The Clubhouse Junior Sports Person Award: Eleanor Beacock – Ballroom/Latin Dancing; Oliver Cresswell – Athletics; Rory Dwyer – Athletics; Freya Eaton – Skiing; Agnes McTighe – Athletics; Jack Sumners - Athletics.

Stratford-upon-Avon Herald Senior Sports Person Award: Ian Beach – Wheelchair Basketball; Paul McHugh – Futsal; Richard Shephard – Athletics/Triathlon; Moira Parsons – Bowls; Wayne Vickers – Athletics/Triathlon; Kate Wright – Athletics.

If you are interested in attending this special evening of celebration, tickets can be purchased at a price of £30 per adult and £15 per child. The ticket will include a reception, 3-course meal, and the all-important awards.
