Talented young sports men and women in Stratford and its surrounding areas have a unique opportunity to gain sponsorship from Everyone Active as part of its 'Sporting Champions' talented athlete scheme. Everyone Active operates the Stratford, Studley, Shipston and Southam leisure centres in partnership with Stratford Upon Avon District Council, and is reaching out to potential local sports stars in the run up to the Olympics.

Everyone Active's Sporting Champions scheme aims to provide talented local athletes in the area with the facilities and funds needed to support their training and help them reach their full potential. Everyone Active will be rewarding successful athletes based on their level of current success with either a bronze sponsorship (free access to Everyone Active centres and use of all facilities), silver sponsorship (free access plus £1,000 sponsorship fee) or gold sponsorship (free access plus £5,000 sponsorship fee).

“As a leisure provider working in partnership with the council we feel it is important to cater for all sectors of the community, including emerging talent", says Managing Director of Sports and Leisure Management at Everyone Active, David Bibby. “Through our work with local authorities across the country, we have already supported more than 500 talented athletes with over £1 million worth of sponsorship.

“Our new Sporting Champions scheme will give even more support to aspiring Olympians by reducing their financial burden or training and competition costs, and will hopefully make a real difference to their success."

Cllr Mike Brain, Technical Services & Leisure Portfolio says: “The District Council is pleased to be working with partners at Everyone Active to offer this package to the up and coming athletes within the district of Stratford-on-Avon. I would encourage any talented and aspiring athlete who wishes to progress to the next level in their field to apply for this great opportunity."

Applications are open to both male and female athletes, who live in a district or borough with an Everyone Active centre or who are already a member of an Everyone Active site.

Applicants should email alexurmston@everyoneactive.com to apply, submitting a 150-word summary of their major sporting achievements to date as well as sharing their goals for the future, including potential upcoming tournaments and competitions. The deadline for entries is8th May.
