Ilmington 20:20 Vision

Ilmington 20:20 Vision is a small committee committed to building a resilient village community and sustain it through this time of climate change and diminishing resources. Since May 2023 we have piloted a scheme to collect soft plastic household waste currently non recyclable via our council bins, in special bins allocated at six points in the village.

Thousands of litres of soft waste which would otherwise has gone to landfill has been taken to Tesco recycling points over that time, a huge success.

We were planning to extend the number of bins throughout the village, but now understand that the Council is hoping to collect soft plastics via our blue refuse bins in the near future. Hopefully we will be made redundant!
