A council-facilitated, community-led climate change local engagement event concluding Great Big Green Week (GBGW) 2024, which runs from 8th June to 16th June 2024.
Main aims of the event:
- To promote community engagement with action for climate and nature across the district, including schools
- To provide a springboard for more action
- To showcase local best practice
Day Schedule (all stalls and plenaries are located in the Council Chamber):
10am-10.15am: Refreshments, stalls, networking.
10.15am-10.35am: Introduction & Welcome speech by Cllr Susan Juned (Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Climate Change) and Eleanor Warren (Climate Change Officer): Our five years of the Climate Emergency Plan: what has been achieved, and what still needs to be done.
10.35am-10.40am: The Climate Emergency: Five Years On, or Five Years of Climate Emergency? By Stephen Norrie (SCA/Net Zero)
10.40am -10.55am: Royal Shakespeare Company, Perspectives on Responding to the Climate Emergency, by Tomas Wright, Technical Director and Jacqui O'Hanlon, Director of Creative Learning and Engagement
10.55am-11am: Break
