Questioning the top brass at the local council should now be easier for residents in south Warwickshire, with the launch of a new service by Stratford-on-Avon District Council. 'Ask the Leader' and 'Ask the Chief' have just been added to the council's website as a simple way for internet users to put any questions to the council about its services.

"We've introduced this new service to make it easier to get questions about the council directly to me or the chief executive," said Cllr Les Topham, leader of Stratford District Council.

"I am keen to have as much direct feedback as possible from the communities in the district, especially if someone has a particular question or a problem.

"The internet is now being used more extensively as a means of communication, with some people finding it easier to express their views and concerns in e-mails rather than over the phone."

Questions put to the leader and chief executive will generally  be answered within two days, unless the queries require further investigation in which case responses may take longer.
