Strider Bike Challenge for toddlers, world class elite cycling when the competitors cross the finish line in Stratford on Thursday 16th June.

The final countdown.

With less than a fortnight until the big event details of what families can expect in their area on their have been released.

If you are along the route through Stratford-on-Avon district on the day you can watch the race first hand at these locations at these times:

  • Moreton Morrell – 11.36 to 11.51
  • Kineton – 11.46 to 12.01
  • Gaydon – 11.53 to 12.08
  • Avon Dassett – 12.04 to 12.19
  • Edge Hill – 12.13 to 12.28
  • Lower Tysoe – 12.21 to 12.36
  • Tysoe – 12.22 to 12.37
  • Lower Brailles – 12.39 to 12.54
  • Upper Brailles – 12.41 to 12.56
  • Darlingscote – 12.55 to 13.15
  • Ilmington – 13.00 to 13.15
  • Mickleton – 13.16 to 13.31
  • Lower Quintin – 13.26 to 13.41
  • Stratford Upon Avon – 13.39 to 13.54
  • Bridge Street – finish – 13.42 to 13.57

There will be an area on Waterside near Bancroft Gardens reserved for some special events:

  • British Cycling's 'Breeze' programme will be present to encourage women to take up bike riding.
  • Stratforward will be providing refreshments for visitors.
  • Everyone Active will bringing a spinning bike, rowing machine and other activities for people to try out.
  • Shakespeare Hospice will be present with selection of bike's available provided by Upcycle Your Cycle and come with a six month warranty.
  • Recovery Partnership will be giving out information.
  • Warwickshire Road Safety Group will be giving people road safety guidance and live demonstrations with qualified cycling instructors.
  • Springfield Mind are promoting mental health and wellbeing services
  • Stratford-upon-Avon School will be presenting a drama performance and decorated bikes.

 

What's happening on the finishing straight.

11.30am – 12noon

Primary Schools Grasstrack cyclists riding on the finish straight then being presented with medals .

12.00 – 12.45pm

There will be an event running for toddlers – the 'Strider Bike Challenge'.

Children aged 18 months to 5 years can enter. All riders get medals and a great photo opportunity on the podium.

Then stay to watch the professionals finish for a truly inspiring day.

The event is FREE but limited so riders must be pre-registered. Please indicate if you need to borrow a bike / helmet as numbers are limited number to borrow.
